Petunia 1mm DermaRoller Review

Hello there!

In case you don’t know what a dermaroller is, it’s a plastic device that has a roller thingy with hundreds in this case 540 needles on it.
IMG_0080.JPG

You’re supposed to roll it over problem areas and it promotes collagen production and circulation. Simple enough but it looks like hell! There are 7 needle sizes that you can get on your own and 2 larger needles that require anesthesia which is administered by a physician.

IMG_0076-0.JPG

I have the 1mm roller which is used for

-Improve appearance of Deep Acne Scars
-Cellulite reduction
-Stretch Marks
-Tighten and smooth skin
-Reduce fine lines and wrinkles
-Reduce enlarged pores

I personally will not use this size of needle on my face because I haven’t used the small ones in a very long time so its kind of scary! So I’ve been using this on my cellulite and stretch marks on my thighs in combination with an anti cellulite cream and DIY cellulite scrub in this order.

Morning prep

-Use DIY coffee scrub in shower

Immediately before use

-Clean and sanitize area being rolled AND derma roller

-I usually dip it in boiling water a few times then I’ll soak it in alcohol and dip it once more in the water

Using and aftercare

– Roll derma roller with light pressure horizontally 5-10 times then vertically and diagonally (see photo)
– I usually do one leg then sanitize and do the other one
– I like to wait 10-20 minutes before I apply any serums or creams just depending on the inflammation, if its not all red and sore then I’ll apply it in like 10 minutes
– SANITIZEEEEEEEE before putting it away!!!
– Let area dry and try not to rub it or cover the area for at least an hour

IMG_0075.JPG

Now as I said some days it’ll be more red than others and everyone’s skin is different so you should really use your best judgment when doing this. Start with going over it 5 times then increase each week, which brings me to the answer of ‘how often should I use this’ it is recommended to use 1-3 times a week on the FACE and 3-4 times a week on the body. I would say start off with 1-2 times a week then gradually increase that to 3-4.

Pain factor, yes it is kind of painful. Its not like being stabbed or cutting yourself its actually like being scratched with jagged finger nails haha so if you cant handle that then this product isn’t for you. Also you are repeating this process 5-10 times per direction in one area, it does get uncomfortable but that’s the price of beauty ;p It will be red, it will look like ground beef (just not as deep) but don’t get me wrong, its not the worst and it isn’t unbearable at all and for the results, its worth it!

Results, now with this it is a process and you have to keep at it and be consistent. By the second month I was able to honestly say that my stretch marks weren’t as pronounced and that I could easily cover them with self tanner and not have to worry about the silvery lines shinning through (not that I wore anything that showed my thighs, but under my shorts it was all good) I’m confident in this process and expect it to continue. Realistically nothing will make your stretch marks completely disappear, I don’t think its possible and every dermatologist ive seen seems to agree but with cellulite it is possible with increasing needle length and some dietary changes!

Bottom line is, if you can take it then I recommend this product. But also I do suggest you starting with a smaller needle until you’re more comfortable with it then gradually increase size. I would start with .25mm for the face or .30mm if your skin is a bit more tough then increase. Do remember to SANITIZEEEEEEEE the hell out of these things BEFORE and AFTER each use the bacteria that could accumulate can cause some serious issues so please remember that! Also this is how it comes so make sure yours is completely sealed also.

DermOrganics Skin Care Sampler Review

Hello there,

So a few weeks ago a group of ladies on FB mentioned cold emailing to companies we were interested in trying, and ask for samples via there “contact us” link soooo that’s what I did. I wrote down a list of over 20 companies that have natural skin care lines or organic skin care lines and I started doing my research and emailing. This wasn’t the easiest thing to do, initially I was told to just write an email and copy and paste it to them all but I found that to be impossible with the different types of products I was interested in. So anyways I decided to try all of the trial sized samples, the ones I can get at least a weeks use from, and write reviews on them.

DermOrganic sent me two boxes of travel sized products, one box contained face wash/moisturizing samples and the other was for hair which will be a completely different review.

A little background info from their site “DermOrganic® formulations are based around naturally-derived ingredients that replicate the elements
hair and skin use inside to replenish, refresh and maintain their youthful vigor from the outside…

Our regimen is based on the simple idea that less is more.
Only the finest, most essential and fully researched ingredients go into our formulas.
The results are youthful-looking hair & skin every day. ”

The Skin Care Sampler is Oil Free, Fragrance Free and all that other good stuff. It retails for $15 it includes;

SoapLess Facial Cleanser which retails for $20 for 8fl oz
It is soap free but strong enough to remove makeup, gentle enough for the eye area. Imparts fresh tight feel without dryness etc.
– It goes on like a moisturizer, feels super silky and doesn’t have any scent at all like it claims. But I don’t think it removes make up completely. I use my Dr.Sponge with it, which I recommend anyways to thoroughly remove any makeup. It is very gentle so it doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin. My only complaint is that my face doesn’t have that tingling clean feeling after I wash it, and it may just be me but I really love that feeling. Lol20140801-094040-34840726.jpg

Then there’s the Facial Moisturizer $20 for 3.4fl oz
It claims to soften skin and improve elasticity, minimize fine lines and is a sheer formula that absorbs quickly.
– My skin is fairly soft but I don’t think this moisturizer is very moisturizing. My skin still looks dry and flakey after using this and then it gets super oily which means I didn’t moisturize properly. Maybe it’s because I have combo skin, I think it would work perfectly on someone with Normal skin.

Lastly it randomly includes Hand and Body Moisture Lotion $20 for 12fl oz
This one claims to be a hydrating cream for hand and body that leaves skin feeling soft, clean and moisturizer. Goes on sheer, glides on and absorbs quickly.
– ehhhh this is just not for me, I used it after a shower and I didn’t look ashy or anything but my skin also wasn’t moisturized at all! I wouldn’t recommend this product because I don’t think it’s worth the price.

20140801-094242-34962913.jpg

For some reason they didn’t include their Calming Facial Toner (which retails $20 for 8fl oz) in the sampler but I do have my own toner that I will be using for the next week and seeing if that makes any difference, I will be sure to insert an update with that and my final thoughts.

Great claims, awesome ingredients but in the last week since I’ve used it I have been noticing I am breaking out a bit, maybe because I’m not getting enough moisture or because the products isn’t equipped to handle my ridiculous acne proneness.
So I do suggest using a spot treatment and an acne fighting moisturizer if you do have acne prone skin.

Overall, I would recommend this skincare like to someone who doesn’t have problematic skin or to those who have sensitive skin.

Also, DermOrganic is proudly;
VEGAN – NO ANIMAL TESTING – NO ARTIFICIAL PRESERVATIVES – SULFATE-FREE & GLUTEN-FREE
NO SODIUM CHLORIDE, SALT, MEA, DEA OR DYES – PARABEN-FREE & PROPYLENE GLYCOL-FREE – pH BALANCED 4.5 – 5.5
OIL FREE & FRAGRANCE FREE SKIN CARE

These are my own thoughts, I was sent this sample for free but not for any reviewing purposes.

1 MONTH OLAY REGENERIST THERMAL MINI PEEL

So I know I was going to do a weekly review but I found that using this product was going to be a bit more challenging than that. (If you want to just see final thoughts skip to the end)
I tried using it TWICE a day for a few days and at first it was fine but after the third or fourth day my skin broke out like crazy! I mean not terribly bad but the blemishes were painful. So I didn’t think that would be fair to post when it was my fault for using it wrong.
The second week I started just using it at night and combined it with my Garnier Over Night glycolic peel and that didn’t really do much except make my skin tender sooooo the third week and recently, I use it every MORNING and use my over night peel at night and my skin has been pretty calm.

Key questions:
Does it make your skin soft?
– Yes, if you use enough product it does make your skin amazingly soft and your makeup goes on smoother!

Does it stop your breakouts?
– Personally, I don’t think it does anything for my acne except for make my skin feel smoother. But that’s just now, maybe with some more time…?

Did it help with your dark spots/acne spots?
– Not that I have noticed. Neither has my other product so I am going to be looking to try a stronger maybe monthly peel to try!

Would you recommend this product?
– Yes and no, I say yes because it does make your skin soft but honestly I’m sure you can find a cheaper product that does the same. I have an Amarte face wash that makes my face feel like a babies butt but that retails $34 but it’s last me a year soooo ehh. The Olay is half way gone and it’s been a month. And no because it just doesn’t do miracles like I expected. Lol I’m impatient.

Overall score on this would be 3 stars.
I love that it makes my skin softer, I love the warming sensation on my face, I love the concept but I’m not in love with the way my skin isn’t reacting to it.
If you don’t have acne prone skin or dark spots this product will probably work GREAT for you but if you do, I wouldn’t expect much, not so soon anyways!

I am in a bit of a rush so I will post pictures tonight!

Olay Regenerist Thermal Mini Peel

Day 1

So I heard about this mini peel on some search to rid my face of these ridiculous dark spots and after some serious research and about two weeks of procrastination, I decided to go to my local market are purchase it at the whopping price of $18+tax!

What it is: Olay Regenerist Thermal Mini-Peel it’s a daily self heating treatment that claims to have benefits such as “relax the appearance of pores, polish skins surface and regenerate surface cells to hydrate, nourish and beauty skin”
How “Water activated, self-heating formula with micro-crystals and glycolic acid regenerates skins surface to reveal brighter, younger looking skin.”

So basically it’s a less harsh version of a chemical peel.

First impression; the texture is that of a pearl cream, totally soft. It’s a lavender color which may not matter to most but to me it makes the whole process seem less scary. I applied as directed and I must say I was not ready for the heat, although it was not hot I guess I just didn’t believe it would actually get, well, heated! Haha

It feels amazing on the skin, not too hot to make you uncomfortable but enough that you notice it’s heated. Made my skin feel softer immediately after use and didn’t irritate it at all. No redness just some soreness on ruptured pimples (oppsss I guess I should have waited until they healed, oh well) but it wasn’t too bad at all. My skin felt clean as if I had used my microdermabrasor (which is pointless and useless and does nothing so we will skip the elaboration on that POC) so all in all the experience was enjoyable and I do look forward to updating y’all in a week (;

I will keep you updated and since I read it’s safe to use daily and nightly WITH the use of SPF 15 or higher if you go outside.

Background boring info about my skin:
Combo/ Acne prone skin I’ve battled with moderate acne for the better part of 11 years, proactive did absolutely nothing nor has, well, any other acne system so I’m just dealing with it and working on getting rid of these terrible scars! I will be addressing body scars at a later time when I find something I’m interested in trying 😉

Pictures are from before use and I will update weekly progress
